Grigor Zohrab (1861-1915) - Grigor Zohrab was an Armenian intellectual giant, whose multifaceted career encompassed law, literature, and political activism. His literary works, primarily short stories and essays, are celebrated for their wit, elegance, and profound psychological insight. Zohrab's narratives, often set against the backdrop of Istanbul's cosmopolitan milieu, reveal the complexities of human nature and the intricacies of social relationships. As a prominent advocate for Armenian rights in the Ottoman Empire, his writings also reflect his deep engagement with the political issues of his time. Tragically, Zohrab's life and career were cut short during the Armenian Genocide, when he was among the hundreds of Armenian intellectuals arrested and murdered. His legacy, however, endures through his writings, which continue to captivate and inspire for their artistic merit and their eloquent testament to the indomitable spirit of the Armenian people.
